Kathy and the five Steve children crewed for Pete in the N24HC when he rode from 1988 through 1997. Since then, all of the children, in-laws, and grandchildren have volunteered in one way or another. Kathy served as a Checkpoint Director, then as Board President and Event co-organizer for many years. She is currently co-director of volunteers.

Kathy worked as an advocate for children with disabilities and retired in 2006.
