Super Scoring and Real-Time Results

Online and Real-Time Scoring and Results!

Yes, you read that correctly – no typo here – ONLINE and REAL-TIME. This year, you will be able to access scoring and results from our scoring website which will be updated in real-time.

Here’s how it works: Your rider number will be scanned at every checkpoint, and your scanned rider number and the time will be instantly transmitted to our scoring computer. Yes, you will have to stop, just as you always have, at each checkpoint for the scanning to occur. Our scoring computer will record the time you passed through the checkpoint and update your total mileage. You will then be able to access all of the scoring and results in real-time on our scoring website. For 2018, we’re considering the system to be in beta, so we’ll be punching number at the same time as the scanning. Assuming all goes well, punching will go the way of the dodo 2019.

Want to know how you are doing? You will be able to see your time and distance for every checkpoint you pass-through during the entire event on our scoring website.

Want to know how your competition is doing? No problem, you will be able to see real-time results by age category on our scoring website.

Want to know who is leading in male and female overall mileage? We got you covered as you will be able to pull that up on your browser anytime you want.

Oh, did I forget to mention, ALL of this will be happening in real-time!

BONUS: Like this isn’t enough? The website will be accessible to anyone – so your friends and family who are not able to attend the National 24 Hour Challenge in person can follow your progress online.

JOIN US: On Sunday, May 20th from 3:00 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. we will be training all checkpoint directors and volunteers to use the new scanning system. We need about 12-15 people to bring their bicycles to Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School and be willing to ride into Checkpoint #4 with rider numbers to provide real-world training for our checkpoint volunteers. We’ll have some refreshments following the training. And yes, just like the National 24 Hour Challenge, the training session will go rain or shine!

April 2018 Update

Everything is falling in place for this year’s National 24 Hour Challenge! More good stuff to share includes . . .

Shirts & Hats: This year the our participant wicking t-shirt features “Clock-Man” designed by National 24 Hour Challenge rider John Hart. Our volunteers and directors will be attired in electric green shirts that will be easy to spot, should you need our assistance. The hats this year will be black with the National 24 Hour name and logo embroidered in gold. You can order the t-shirts and hats online and we will have some available for sale during the event – while supplies last.

Course: We have confirmed that all three loops will be the same this year as last year. Loop 1, which takes a leisurely 121.9 mile jaunt through beautiful Barry County, Michigan will have a short quarter-mile detour through a neighborhood due to some road construction, but will otherwise be exactly the way you remember it. Loop 2, a 24 mile ride around the Yankee Springs Recreation Area is unchanged, as is Loop 3, the 7.6 mile night loop.
