The Challenge is Moving!

We received a call from Thornapple-Kellogg School District officials the last week of March letting us know that construction on Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School was going to start the day school ends on June 2nd. This means that we will be unable to use Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School as our headquarters for the National 24 Hour Challenge this year.

Our headquarters for the 2022 National 24 Hour Challenge will now be Thornapple-Kellogg High School, which is located about 1,500 feet to the east of Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School. For those of you who want to see these buildings on a map: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.7081729,-85.4911523,1063m/data=!3m1!1e3

At the high school we will still have all the amenities that we had at the middle school – restrooms, lockers rooms with showers, a gym for people who want to sleep indoors, and a cafeteria for food and the awards ceremony. You will also be able to camp on the grounds of Thornapple-Kellogg High School and Page Elementary located just south of the high school.

However, some things will change. We will be unable to use the service drive into and out of Thornapple-Kellogg Middle School, so the checkpoint location will now be at the high school. The Day Loop and Night Loop will be shorter because we will not be using the service drive. The 2022 National 24 Hour Challenge will start from the Thornapple-Kellogg High School parking lot.

We will be finalizing these details in the next couple of weeks and will be releasing new maps and information for where you will find everything this year as soon as we can.
